個人簡介:曾宏波為加拿大阿爾伯塔大學化學工程和材料工程系終身教授、加拿大皇家科學院和工程院兩院院士、國家講席教授、分子力和界面科學首席專家。獲清華大學工學學士和碩士學位,美國加州大學圣芭芭拉分校博士學位。目前研究方向主要包括膠體與界面科學、功能材料、化工/石油/礦物和環境等工程過程中的界面現象等。已在高水平SCI期刊發表論文500余篇,撰寫和主編專著一部。曾獲加拿大石油青年創新獎,加拿大化學和化工學會創新獎,阿爾伯塔大學工程研究優秀獎、工程本科教學優秀獎、工程研究生教學優秀獎、杰出導師獎和工程研究職業成就獎,國際杰出青年化學工程師獎, 加拿大自然科學與工程研究理事會Steacie獎(國家科技最高獎之一), Killam教授獎, 范德華(van der Waals)獎等。現兼任Advances in Colloid and Interface Science主編和Science China Materials、Petroleum Science等SCI 期刊副主編。
報告摘要:The physicochemical properties and functionalities of materials in various applications are mainly governed by their intermolecular and surface interaction characteristics. Over the past decades, there has been growing research interest in the quantitative characterization of these interactions, especially in soft materials (e.g., polymers, biopolymers) and engineering processes such as the stabilization and destabilization of emulsions (water-in-oil and oil-in-water), oil/water separation, bubble-bitumen flotation, water treatment, and challenges related to fouling and antifouling strategies. In this talk, I will discuss the development of the research field on intermolecular and surface forces. I will provide an introduction to the fundamental principles of these forces and the nanomechanical techniques commonly used for their study. I will then present recent advances in applying these advanced techniques to quantify intermolecular and surface interactions in bitumen production, wastewater treatment, fouling/antifouling phenomena, and the development of novel functional materials.
